About This Tree
The Fagus sylvatica 'Atropunicea', commonly known as the Copper Beech, is a striking deciduous tree that is prized for its rich, deep-purple foliage, which can appear almost black in certain lights. This majestic tree features a broad, rounded canopy with smooth, grey bark and elegantly spreading branches. Its leaves are oval to elliptical with a smooth, wavy margin, providing a lush, dense cover during the growing season.
