About This Tree
Snowy Mespilus is said to have a special treat in store for every season and for this reason it is becoming evermore popular. In spring bronze-coloured leaves unfold. As soon as they settle to green, a whole host of glorious, white star-shaped flowers appear demanding attention and adoration, simply a stunning sight!
The blueish - black fruit of late summer are not only decorative but can also be eaten and are ideal for making jams and juices. The final crowning glory of this all-rounder is its magnificent blaze of orange and rich red autumnal colours. Even in winter its fine ornamental shoots will impress onlookers. Amelanchier canadensis is also a good bee pasture and the fruits are very popular with bird life. Fully hardy.
