The Acer platanoides 'Emerald Queen', commonly known as the Emerald Queen Norway Maple, is a stately and robust deciduous tree admired for its symmetrical growth and vibrant foliage. This cultivar is known for its vigorous growth and upright, oval to rounded crown, making it a popular choice for urban landscapes and large gardens.

Key features of the Emerald Queen include its glossy, dark green leaves which turn a striking yellow in autumn, adding seasonal interest to any setting. The tree produces small, yellow-green flowers in spring, which although not particularly showy, add a subtle charm before the leaves fully emerge. The bark is grey and becomes furrowed with age, adding texture and character to the mature tree.

In terms of size, the Emerald Queen can reach a mature height of approximately 15-20 meters with a spread of about 10-15 meters. It thrives in a range of soil types, from clay to sandy soils, as long as they are well-drained. This maple is quite adaptable to different environmental conditions but prefers full sun to partial shade for optimal growth. Additionally, it is tolerant of urban pollution and can withstand a variety of harsh conditions, making it an excellent choice for city planting. Its robust nature and aesthetic appeal make the Acer platanoides 'Emerald Queen' a remarkable addition to any landscape.
