The Acer platanoides 'Deborah', commonly known as the Deborah Norway Maple, is a striking deciduous tree known for its robust structure and vibrant foliage. This cultivar stands out with its unique leaves that emerge a rich, deep purple in the spring, transitioning to a glossy dark green in the summer, and finally turning a brilliant yellow-orange in the autumn. This bold colour change throughout the seasons makes it a favourite among landscape designers and gardeners alike.

At maturity, the Deborah Norway Maple typically reaches a height of about 12-15 meters, with a spread of approximately 10-12 meters. Its broad, rounded canopy provides excellent shade, making it an ideal choice for parks, large gardens, and street plantings. The tree's dense foliage and strong, upright growth habit contribute to its popularity as a shade tree.

The Deborah Norway Maple is quite adaptable to various soil types, thriving in well-drained soils but also tolerating clay and sandy soils. It prefers full sun to partial shade, requiring at least six hours of direct sunlight per day to maintain its vibrant foliage colours and healthy growth. Additionally, this tree is relatively low-maintenance, with good resistance to urban pollution and moderate drought tolerance once established. Its resilience and striking seasonal display make the Acer platanoides 'Deborah' a standout choice for both ornamental and functional purposes in a variety of landscapes.
